Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot can now read analog gauges, thermometers, and sight glasses thanks to Google DeepMind’s new Gemini Robotics‑ER 1.6 model. The upgraded system dramatically boosts accuracy in visual reasoning tasks, jumping from 23 percent in the previous version to 98 percent with agentic vision. The model also improves safety awareness, multi‑view perception, and reduces hallucinations, enabling robots to operate more reliably in complex industrial environments.
