Apple Watch gets Siri Recap, an always‑listening meeting notetaker
Apple introduced a new meeting‑notetaker feature for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 called Siri Recap, part of a broader set of audio‑intelligence upgrades. Siri Recap uses ambient listening to generate high‑level summaries of conversations, including a title, key points and a short recap, all viewable in the Siri app. Users can keep the feature always on, schedule it, or disable it entirely. Apple also added Shazam integration, real‑time sound recognition for alarms, sirens and baby cries, and Live Rewind, which lets users replay the last 15 seconds of conversation by double‑pressing the digital crown. Apple emphasizes privacy: raw audio is not stored, Siri Recap does not identify speakers, and Live Rewind clips are end‑to‑end encrypted. Still, the always‑listening nature of the feature may raise concerns, as summaries could capture sensitive information. Siri Recap resembles existing notetaker apps like Granola and Circleback, but now comes built‑in at the OS level.
