Xbox Reviews Its Next Console Model to Keep It Affordable
Xbox is facing rising production costs that are forcing the company to rethink its next-generation console, Project Helix. Chief Strategy Officer Mathew Ball confirmed that demand for the current Xbox Series X|S still exceeds supply, but manufacturing limitations and cost pressures are shaping future plans. Ball said Xbox is “rethinking everything” about Helix to ensure affordability and flexibility amid a global hardware crisis expected to last up to two and a half years. The next-gen console is envisioned as a hybrid between PC and console, but its design and pricing may change significantly. The company aims to innovate to avoid passing high costs onto consumers.
