Powered by OpenAI's newly updated GPT-Live voice system, the device is built to proactively anticipate user needs by analyzing local surroundings and personal data, including emails. The hardware push, spearheaded by a team of about 400 people—many of whom are highly experienced former Apple employees—is already the subject of a massive trade-secrets lawsuit filed by Apple, which could delay its planned 2027 commercial release.
