Microsoft introduces cloud powered recovery for broken Windows installs

Microsoft is introducing a new Windows 11 recovery feature called Cloud Rebuild that allows users to reinstall the operating system entirely through the internet, even when Windows is unbootable. Unlike Reset this PC, Cloud Rebuild downloads both the Windows image and all necessary device drivers directly from Windows Update, ensuring the system becomes fully functional without requiring a USB installation drive. This method provides a clean reinstall only, without preserving apps or files. It is designed for situations where the OS is corrupted or cannot start, offering a more reliable fallback option. The feature is currently available to Windows Insiders and will roll out to all users in the coming months.
