Memory shortage threatens Apple’s Mac roadmap
The global memory shortage, fueled by the rapid expansion of AI, is reportedly delaying Apple’s upcoming Mac releases, including the high-end Mac Studio and the rumored touchscreen MacBook Pro. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Mac Studio's launch has been pushed from summer to October, while the touchscreen models may not debut until 2027. The shortage is also pushing hardware prices up across the industry, affecting devices like Meta’s Quest 3, Microsoft Surface models, and even the Raspberry Pi. Analysts warn that memory prices may not stabilize until 2027 or even 2028.
