Lenovo Launches Mini PC That Replaces Traditional Software With 8,000 AI Skills
Lenovo has launched a highly experimental mini PC in China that aims to replace traditional desktop software with downloadable artificial intelligence functions. The Lenovo AI Host Mini ships with access to a proprietary marketplace featuring over 8,000 distinct "AI Skills" instead of conventional applications. Operating on the Tianxi Claw platform, the 0.48-liter ultra-compact device runs on Ubuntu and is powered by a 6nm Arm-based Cixin P1 processor. The domestic Chinese chip features a 12-core CPU, an Arm Immortalis GPU, and a dedicated NPU delivering 30 TOPS of localized AI performance. While the device integrates deeply with local workflows like WeChat and QQ, it remains uncertain whether consumers will embrace a closed, capability-based ecosystem over standard operating systems. The PC is currently available for pre-order in China for 2,999 RMB (around $444).
