Microsoft has officially submitted a request to Apple to enable seamless, real-time wireless clipboard sharing between iPhones and Windows PCs. The proposed integration would allow users to copy text or images on an iPhone and instantly paste them on a Windows system without manual app permissions or third-party workarounds. Apple has accepted the request as part of its compliance process under the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), promising to develop the universal clipboard feature by fall 2027 with a full release expected in late 2027 or early 2028. However, due to the regulatory nature of the request, this cross-platform syncing capability will initially be restricted to EU users. Microsoft is also seeking real-time photo library synchronization between iOS and Windows, though that request remains in earlier technical discussions.
