A new report reveals that Microsoft’s aggressive rollout of Copilot across Windows, Edge, and Microsoft 365 has not translated into widespread adoption. Despite over 20 million paid Copilot 365 seats, this represents less than 4.5% of Microsoft’s 450 million commercial 365 users. Even among paying customers, weekly usage sits at just 20–30%, meaning only around 4–6 million people actively use Copilot each week. Enterprises appear to be buying licenses faster than employees integrate the AI assistant into their workflow. Microsoft has responded by allowing organizations to hide or uninstall Copilot and by toning down branding after user backlash. Meanwhile, subscription prices for Microsoft 365 have increased, making the low engagement even more striking. The report suggests that while Copilot is everywhere, it’s far from becoming a daily habit for most users.
