Chinese Company Says Its New AI Swarm Beats Mythos
Chinese cybersecurity firm Qihoo 360 claims it has developed an AI bug‑finding system that surpasses Anthropic’s Mythos, which its CEO describes as a “cyber nuclear weapon” due to US restrictions on foreign access. Instead of relying on massive frontier models, Qihoo 360 built a multi‑agent swarm trained on two decades of malware research, enabling coordinated threat modeling, vulnerability discovery and automated exploit generation. The company says its system has already uncovered long‑dormant Windows, Office and Excel vulnerabilities, earning recognition from Microsoft. Qihoo 360 argues China cannot wait for its models to catch up to US capabilities and must pursue alternative methods to counter Mythos‑level tools. The announcement comes amid rising geopolitical tension, with US sanctions on Qihoo 360 and China warning that Mythos gives America a strategic cyber advantage.
