Apple Testing M6 MacBook Pro With First Ever 2 nm Chip
Apple is preparing to launch an updated 14 inch MacBook Pro with the new M6 chip later this year, according to Bloomberg. The M6 will be Apple’s first chip built on TSMC’s 2 nm N2 process, offering smaller transistors, higher efficiency, and improved performance compared to the current 3 nm M5 generation. Unlike previous generations, the M6 will be a standalone chip with no Pro or Max variants until the M7 lineup arrives in 2027. The chip will feature around 200 GB/s memory bandwidth, an upgraded Neural Engine, improved video processing, and a GPU option with up to 12 cores. Apple is also testing M6 versions of the Mac mini, iMac, and MacBook Air, though their release timing remains unclear.
