Apple has launched a new leasing program called Apple Upgrade in partnership with Klarna, allowing customers in the United States to pay for iPhones, Macs, iPads and Apple Watches through monthly installments. Prices start at 17.99 dollars per month for iPhone, 11.99 dollars for Apple Watch, 24.99 dollars for Mac and 11.99 dollars for iPad, with lease terms ranging from one to three years depending on the device. At the end of the lease, users can upgrade to a newer model, buy their current device outright or return it. The program arrives as Apple faces supply chain challenges caused by the RAMageddon memory chip shortage, which has pushed hardware prices up.
