European law enforcement agencies have emailed more than 75,000 individuals suspected of using DDoS‑for‑hire platforms, following a coordinated Europol operation known as Operation PowerOFF. Authorities obtained user data by seizing servers linked to these services, leading to four arrests, 53 domain takedowns, and 24 search warrants. The warning campaign aims to deter low‑skill cybercriminals who rely on paid DDoS tools to knock websites offline, a threat that remains widespread as attacks continue to grow in scale. Cloudflare recently reported mitigating a record 29.7 Tbps DDoS attack, underscoring the ongoing severity of the problem.
