Meta has officially introduced its new Muse Image AI generator across Instagram, Meta AI, and WhatsApp, featuring advanced prompt reasoning and custom story effects. However, the update automatically opts all public Instagram accounts into a feature that allows anyone to use their public photos for AI remixes. By tagging a username in a prompt, users can instantly generate new images based on that person's likeness without receiving any notification. This default opt-in has sparked significant user backlash and raises serious privacy concerns, particularly under strict European Union privacy laws. Fortunately, users can block this data scraping by navigating to Instagram's sharing and reuse settings and manually disabling the content creation permissions.
