Meta Forces Employees to Train Their Own AI Replacements via Keystroke Tracking
Meta is installing new tracking software on all US employee computers that records keystrokes, mouse movements, and even occasional screenshots to train its AI models. According to Reuters, the system, called the Model Capability Initiative, is designed to teach Meta’s AI agents how humans interact with computers, raising major concerns about worker surveillance and the ethics of using employees to train tools that may automate their jobs. Meta claims managers cannot access the data and that safeguards are in place, but experts note that US law imposes virtually no limits on workplace monitoring.
