Intel's Frame Extrapolation Wants to Predict Your Next Move Before You Make It

Intel is developing a software-based frame extrapolation technology, designed for its new Arc G3 handheld chips, that predicts player input to generate frames ahead of actual rendering. Unlike standard frame interpolation, which inserts AI frames between two already-rendered ones, extrapolation attempts to get ahead of the rendering pipeline by anticipating mouse or thumbstick movement. Intel executive Tom Petersen acknowledged the technology is not yet ready for a full public demo but confirmed it is close.
