I smell a RAT — new Android malware can hack every top phone maker's security, and costs less than a second-hand iPhone
A new Android malware called Oblivion is being sold as a subscription service starting at $300, and it can reportedly bypass security on devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO running Android 8 through 16. Once installed, it abuses Android's Accessibility Service to silently intercept SMS, two-factor codes, keystrokes, and push notifications — while showing fake overlays so the user never notices. The scariest part isn't the technical sophistication, it's the accessibility: a polished builder tool lets even low-skill attackers generate convincing fake apps and gain persistent remote control of devices.
