Hacker broke into FBI and compromised Epstein files, report says

A foreign hacker infiltrated the FBI’s New York field office in 2023 and accessed files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, according to Reuters. The breach occurred through a server at the Child Exploitation Forensic Lab that was accidentally left exposed by an FBI agent working on the case. The FBI says the incident was isolated, contained, and the network was secured, though the hacker reportedly only realized they had breached the FBI when agents contacted them directly. The investigation remains ongoing.
