Gmail mobile apps now support enterprise-grade end-to-end encrypted messaging
Google has expanded Gmail’s end-to-end encryption to all Android and iOS devices, allowing enterprise users to read and compose encrypted emails directly in the Gmail app. Messages sent with E2EE now arrive as regular emails, even for recipients who don’t use the Gmail app, who can open them in any browser. The feature relies on client-side encryption, ensuring that organizations control their own encryption keys and that Google cannot access message contents. This rollout strengthens compliance with strict privacy regulations and simplifies secure communication for businesses and public sector users.
