Gemini Spark launches on Mac and takes control of your files, tasks and apps

Google has expanded its Gemini Spark background AI assistant to the native macOS desktop application, transforming it from a simple chatbot into an active automation tool. The integration allows Spark to interact directly with local desktop files, giving it the ability to organize cluttered folders or create spreadsheets using local invoices. New connections with platforms like Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rentals enable users to automate real world tasks such as booking reservations or ordering groceries. Additionally, Spark can now track specific topics in real time and send immediate notifications for events like stock price shifts or sports highlights. Future updates will also allow users to remotely trigger multi step workflows on their Mac directly from a smartphone.
