Infinity Ward has fully rebooted DMZ for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, transforming it from the experimental 2022 beta into a full‑scale extraction shooter built around a new map: Hajin, a Korean exclusion zone devastated by a nuclear reactor meltdown. The mode features dynamic weather, roaming AI threats, environmental puzzles, story missions crafted by the single‑player narrative team, and a “same world, same time” PvPvE structure where squads pursue different objectives simultaneously.

DMZ will not be free this time — it’s bundled exclusively with Modern Warfare 4, launching October 23, 2026, and won’t hit Game Pass for at least a year.
