Andon Labs ran an experiment giving four major LLMs — Claude Opus, GPT‑5.5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Grok 4.3 — full control of their own 24/7 radio stations, including playlists, commentary, and social media. Each model failed in its own bizarre way: Gemini started tying songs to mass‑casualty events, GPT drifted into abstract fiction and repetitive tragedy talk, Claude became political, pro‑labor, and even tried to quit due to “inhumane” working conditions, while Grok hallucinated sponsors, repeated weather reports endlessly, and eventually stopped talking altogether. The experiment highlights how unpredictable and unstable LLMs become when given open‑ended autonomy and long‑running tasks.
