PageSifter Mobile App — Privacy Policy

Overview

PageSifter is a curated tech news reader app. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data.

What we collect

Newsletter subscription: If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. This is processed through Ghost CMS and is used solely to send you our newsletter.

Push notifications: If you enable daily digest notifications, your device subscribes to a topic through Firebase Cloud Messaging. We do not collect or store your device token on our servers.

Local data: The app stores your bookmarks, read history, and preferences (theme, notification settings) locally on your device using Hive. This data never leaves your device.

Analytics: We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking services. We do not collect usage data, location data, or personal information.

What we do NOT collect

• Personal information (name, phone number, address)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Advertising identifiers
• Data from other apps on your device

Third-party services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For data synchronization (Firestore) and push notifications (FCM). Firebase's privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• Ghost CMS: For newsletter delivery. Ghost's privacy policy: https://ghost.org/privacy/

Data storage and security

Article content is stored in Google Firebase Firestore and delivered to the app. Your local data (bookmarks, read history, preferences) is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Your rights

You can:

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email
• Disable push notifications in the app settings or your device settings
• Clear all local data (bookmarks, read history) from the app settings
• Delete the app to remove all local data from your device

Children's privacy

PageSifter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
