Amazon Leo enters enterprise beta as mid-2026 commercial launch approaches
Amazon Leo, the rebranded successor to Project Kuiper, has entered enterprise beta with a commercial launch planned for mid-2026. The satellite internet service offers three terminal tiers delivering up to 1 Gbps, with major partners like Verizon, AT&T, Vodafone, JetBlue, and NASA already testing the system. Amazon faces a significant challenge meeting its FCC requirement of 1,618 satellites in orbit by July 2026, having only around 210 to 241 deployed and requesting a two-year extension. To close the gap, the company has secured 22 additional launches across SpaceX, Blue Origin, ULA, and Arianespace.
