All Google users in the US can now change their Gmail address

Google now allows all users in the US to change the username portion of their Gmail address, giving long time users a chance to update outdated or unwanted email names. The option appears in Google Account settings and can be used once every 12 months, with the old address remaining active as an alternate login. All existing emails are preserved, and users can sign in or receive messages through both the old and new addresses. The feature follows a gradual rollout that began late last year.
