AI Tool Fails to Keep Up With Milk and Syrup at Starbucks

Starbucks has discontinued its AI powered inventory management tool after only nine months due to frequent miscounts and mislabeled items. The system, developed with NomadGo, was intended to automate stock tracking but often failed to recognize products correctly, even missing items in its own promotional video. Employees reportedly welcomed the decision to return to manual counting, saying the idea was good but the execution poor. The company will now revert to traditional inventory methods across its North American stores.
