During a recent internal town hall meeting, Kim Yong-Kwan, President of Samsung’s Device Solutions division, revealed a staggering financial projection for 2026. The tech giant expects its annual operating profit to reach approximately 300 trillion won, equivalent to roughly 200 billion dollars. This single-year total is projected to surpass the company's cumulative profits from the entire previous forty years since it entered the semiconductor business. The unprecedented financial boom is driven by an ongoing global shortage and surging demand for AI hardware components like high-bandwidth memory. While hardware manufacturers and their investors are reaping massive rewards, the rest of the tech industry is suffering from severe inventory bottlenecks and skyrocketing component prices.
